About Appropriate Architecture LLC
Mark was born and raised in a rural mid-Minnesota farming community. After moving to Bend in 1986 and attending Pilot Butte Middle School, Mark graduated from Mountain View High School as class valedictorian.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Willamette University before attaining a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon in 1999. Within one month of graduating Mark moved back to Bend to work for Neal Huston & Associates and now has over 20 years of experience working in Central Oregon.
Mark specializes in residential projects and is committed to sustainable design as seen by having been a team member on multiple LEED projects, as well as earning Earth Advantage’s Sustainable Homes Professional designation. Mark is active in the community volunteering with Architects in Schools since its Bend inception in 2008.
Mark is a registered architect in the state of Oregon and a LEED Accredited Professional.
